James (Jim) Hutchens is a Certified Public Accountant located in Sandpoint, Idaho.
He graduated from Eastern Washington University in 1980 with a degree in professional accounting.
Jim became partner in a CPA firm in 1998 and became the sole owner in 2004.
Jim has extensive expertise in corporate, individual and partnership returns.
Jim is married to Patty Hutchens, his wife of 27 years.
They have two grown sons.
Lou has been in the accounting world of Sandpoint for over 20 years.
She is an Enrolled Agent with the IRS; she has many years' experience in tax preparation with an exceptional interest in non-profit accounting and tax returns.

Have you just started a new business?
Did you know expenses incurred before a business begins operations are not allowed as current deductions?
Generally, these start up costs must be amortized over a period of 180 months beginning in the month in which the business begins.
However, based on the current tax provisions, you may elect to deduct up to $5,000 of business start-up and $5,000 of organizational costs paid or incurred.
The $5,000 deduction is reduced by any start-up or organizational costs which exceed $50,000.
